A -50 years-old Korean-housewife- had suffered from paresthesia-and progressive weakness of lower limbs for 4 years. At operation, a dark reddish solid tumor was encountered in spinal epidural space, extending over T3 to T6 vertebral levels. The tumor was compressible in consistency, measuring 6X3X2 cm, which was easily freed up from the neighboring structures. One month after the operation the patient could walk by herself.
Not being infrequently a cavernous hemangioma found in various parts of the central nervous system and enveloping structures, the one located in spinal epidural space is rare. But their occurrence in that space is of particular significance because of their effect on the spinal cord, easy accessibility of surgical intervention, and good results.
